What have you done to customize your landscape trailer?

In this discussion on the Gopher Lawn Care Business Forum, we asked the members what kinds of customization have you done to your landscape trailer to improve your daily work flow. Various tips examples were presented and additional tips were shared. Maybe one of these improvements will get you to consider how you can customize your set up to improve efficiency.

One lawn care business owner wrote “in the last two weeks, on my off days, I have been building all kinds of stuff for my landscape trailer in my garage. For $85.73 I built a custom workbench for the front of the trailer. It comes complete with a locking storage area for gas and sticky finger attractions. Then I got a $1 yard sale electric reel and made that my mobile electric hub. Then I turned a wire basket into my trash basket. Don’t pay attention to the huge mess, I am not done cleaning up. Below the interior picture is a picture of the exterior of my outfit this year. The magnets were just there, I don’t use them right now. I’m going to get a magnet that matches the red paint, and have it go down the whole side of the bed on both sides. landscape-trailer-interior-1

To power the trailer I am currently using a normal 120v outlet. I park the trailer next to my garage, so I just use extension cord whenever I’m in it. In the future, I may get a small generator so I can use a compressor, mower blade sharpener, and lights out in the field.” landscape-trailer-exterior-1

A second lawn care business owner shared “I have customized the inside of my landscape trailer as well. The bench inside of my trailer has a 2″ lip on the edge of the work surface to help keep things on the bench when moving and no legs so the front of my mower can use the space under the bench.

The stuff on the bench was just thrown up there after picking up but has it’s own space on the trailer like the saws and blower.

Taking just a little bit of time to build this has really improved the functionality of my trailer and created not only a way to transport my mowing equipment from job to job but also has allowed me to bring along a way to service my equipment too.
