I am always keeping my eye out for new and creative marketing ideas that can be applied to the lawn care business and I saw one that I thought was great.
Realtors who have any chance at making money know they need to keep their name out, especially when people are looking to sell their homes. They also want to gain referrals of friends or family members through their marketing base. So the other day, there was this realtor driving her SUV around with the rear section of her truck, full of these small pumpkins. She wasn’t just stopping at every home on the street but instead stopping at the homes that were well kept and looked like they were worth something. Then she would get out of her vehicle and walk up to the stairs and place a pumpkin on their door step and leave.
I thought this was a fantastic idea. You could do this too. Why not get a bunch of pumpkins and tie some business cards to them. You could go out around town and distribute these pumpkins the way this realtor was doing it or you could distribute them to the neighbors of your current customers using the cloverleaf technique. This could really help you stand out and add more customers to your current route. The more customers you have closer together, the more profits you will make due to the fact you will be traveling less in between customers.
Maybe on one side of the business card you could also offer a fall leaf clean up special!
