Here is a sample lawn care contract you can download in a doc file format from the Gopher Lawn Care Business Forum. One of our members was kind enough to share with us what he uses.

This is a general service agreement outlining the rights and responsibilities of both the Client and YOUR COMPANY. By signing this document the Client acknowledges that he/she has read, understands and agrees to its content.

  1. Services are limited to the description above. Any added service (leaf removal, brush removal, hedge trimming, etc.) will incur additional charges. These additional services are normally billed at $60.00 per hour with a 15 minute minimum.

  2. Client is not required to be at home during the service, but the service area must be accessible and free of obstructions (lawn furniture, toys, trash, etc.) prior to the scheduled visit. All pets must be secured as to pose no threat to service personnel.

  3. In the event the Client needs to postpone a scheduled service date, Client must notify YOUR COMPANY at least 2 days in advance so that our schedule can be adjusted accordingly. Otherwise, we must charge a flat fee of $20.00 to offset costs. Since our schedule is planned weeks in advance, we may not be able to service your lawn before your next scheduled service date. If you request, and we are able to provide, an off-schedule service, the charge will be your normal service rate plus 10%.

  4. Any or all of the Services listed above may be terminated at any time by either party for any reason (Any monies owed at the time of termination will be due within 15 days).


  1. We accept the following payment types: Cash, Personal Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Visa & Mastercard.

  2. Payment for one time services (brush removal, fall cleanup, etc.) is due upon completion of the service.

  3. If the service is recurring (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) you may either pay at the time the service is rendered or we will invoice you at the beginning of each month. Invoiced payment are due within 15 days of the invoice date.

  4. Payments not received by the due date are subject to a late fee of $10.00 or 10% of the unpaid balance, whichever is greater, and may interrupt recurring services.

  5. Checks returned for insufficient funds will be charged a minimum $25.00 service fee and may interrupt recurring services.
