Co-market yourself with a complimentary business to really promote your lawn care business.
If you are a lawn care service business, team up with a company that provides landscaping services or tree services. Find a company that is complimentary but doesn’t perform the same services as you do. Then work together to pool your marketing resources and reach out to more people.
That is exactly what our friend Andy did. He wrote and said “This is a new thing I am going try. Mrs. Green Thumb is owned by a friend of mine, who just started up last year. She wants to just focus on landscape and design. I want to streamline and stay with lawn care & fertilization. So we are doubling our advertising coverage, we are able to bring better service, and use each others ideas in more of a tag team thing. We can cover more together than by ourselves.”
Steve: “How tough or complicated was it to pull all this together?”
Andy: “Jody and I are joining forces to get more out of each others advertising and we can spend more time on what we want to do. Jody has a degree in horticulture and is a master gardener. I have been in the industry for 18 years with my main focus on turf management. I have owned my own company for 6 years now, and growing. Working with her is like joining the two companies but we keep everything separate. Just a simple joint venture.”
