How my lawn care business has grown by 100% in 3 years.

Everyone is looking for ways to grow their lawn care business and there are many ways to do it. One lawn care business owner shared with us a simple tip on how he has been able to grow his lawn care business over 100% in 3 years. His method is simple, he shows his customers that he appreciates them. Let me explain this more so you can potentially apply this lawn care marketing method in your business.

He wrote to us on the Gopher Lawn Care Business Forum and said…

“I believe and I think it true that all people regardless of their socio-economic status like to be appreciated. You may even be surprised by the fact on how much they might want to be appreciated. The fact is that every area across the country has a need for lawn care services. The company that stands out the most is the one who will not only offer top notch lawn care services but also be able to effectively utilize appreciation marketing.

To help shed more light on this subject, have you ever received a call or a card from an old friend you hadn’t heard from in a long time? If so, how did that make you feel? Think about that for a moment. Then think about how that could be expanded to making a customer feel appreciated.

One of the biggest issues lawn care business owners fail at nowadays is the fact that most people don’t stay in front of their target market. They forget that they need to stand out above the rest of their competition. One of the best ways to do that is show your customer that they are special to your business and that you think about them other than just a money machine (ATM).

To do this, send them a card, non business related, or call them to touch base. How about a birthday card every year? Or maybe a card that says happy Thanksgiving or even better, utilize a holiday where cards aren’t normally sent out, like a Happy 4th Of July day card. This will really make you stand out because the¬† home owner won’t be receiving any other cards that day. A big key to success is to keep in front of your customers on a regular basis through out the year and show them that you APPRECIATE them.

That is what works and that is how my lawn care business has grown by 100% in just 3 years. All of my equipment is paid off except for the new truck. How? Because I show my clients that I care about them and their property.

I don’t do any other kind of advertising. No ad in the yellow pages, no door hangers. I do have a website now but I didn’t 2 years ago. To build my client base, I just sent people cards, asked for referrals and relied on word of mouth advertising. In my experience, that is the best way to grow! Try it out and see for yourself.”
